I’m delighted to announce our latest New Manufacturer Member to the ESMA Community – UCC Coffee Europe Ltd.

The UCC story began in 1933 when Tadao Ueshima established a Western-style food store in Kobe, Japan. Having discovered coffee, he dedicated his life to making the ‘mysterious beverage’ popular across Japan.

In 1951, Ueshima Coffee Incorporated was created and the first UCC coffee shop opened in 1958. In 1969, they manufactured and launched the world’s first canned coffee product. Going from strength to strength, they opened their first directly managed coffee plantation in Blue Mountains, Japan in 1981. They were the first Japanese company to sell sustainable coffee (Rainforest alliance) and expanded into Europe in 2012.
