A warm welcome to Manufacturer Member Sperlari which is a Subsidiary of Katjes International.

It’s also a warm “Welcome back to the ESMA Community” for our dear Friend and Loyal Supporter of the ESMA for many years, Olaf Wilcke who is the Chief Sales Officer of Katjes International.

Enea Sperlari opened in the heart of Cremona a shop for the handicraft production and the sale of typical specialties of the Cremona tradition: nougat and mustard.  The success was such that, by the end of the century, the Sperlari brand was also known abroad and even in the American continent, where numerous Italian communities were located.

In the midst of an economic boom, Sperlari renewed its range, opening up to a new market: sweets. It was precisely with this new product that the idea, which was absolutely innovative at the time, made candy become a real gift. The famous Sperlari box arrived on the market, an absolute novelty that reached the prestigious milestone of over 8 million boxes sold in a year.
