Cornish Sea Salt

We’re delighted to welcome our latest Manufacturer member to the ESMA International Network Community – Cornish Sea Salt from the UK.

Cornish Sea Salt is natural, hand-harvested sea salt from grade A waters off the British Cornish coast. The unique location creates deeper flavour intensity – more flavour with less salt.

The main differentiator between Cornish Sea Salt and other sea salts is the mineral content derived from the geology and how its influence is preserved.

• They are the only salt manufacturer in the UK to harvesting from Grade A waters.
• Serpentine and gabbro on the coastline are rich in magnesium and calcium.
• The abundance of minerals (magnesium, sodium, potassium, and calcium) is what gives Cornish’s characteristics taste: salty with a sweet note.
• Unlike competitors that wash their salt, they retain all the unique characteristics of their sea salt by not washing or keeping the layer of brine.
• They taste-test every batch for quality assurance. Their production encompasses six
  production rooms and 140 salt tanks.
• Cornish Sea Salt is the only UK salt manufacturer with BRC certification.
